The Venice Project becomes Joost
I have been playing with The Venice Project. Its just changed name to Joost. The plug-ins are cool and a lot of success will rest on them engaging 3rd party developers to build more. They have done well to focus on feeds and IM as the main things people will want while watching TV. They now need to get loads of content in very quickly.

Watch this. Paypal and Slide founder Max Levchin on starting companies
Embedded video below shows Max Levchin talking about starting companies at his alma mater UIUC. Inspiring stuff.
Video is grainy- just listen to the audio. It cuts out after 20 mins, full file available here, will upload it again once I get a chance.

Old feeds are broken, please re-subscribe
Those of you who already subscribed to the old feeds, they're broken, please delete them and re-subscribe to the new ones...can't get it right first time, am new to this.
I have just made my feeds trackable using Feedburner so that I can see how many people are subscribing and reading them. Its a great little company, ripe for acquisition when that little orange icon has become waaay more mainstream in 2007. You heard the prediction here first.

What are you optimistic about?
This is the first post of the year. The Edge World Question Center is asking what are you optimistic about for 2007 and why? Some really interesting articles from Dawkins et al...I should probably read his new book on religion at some point too.
